Indian Idol Season 16

Indian Idol is an Indian Hindi-language singing reality competition on Sony TV. It is an Indian version of the British show Pop Idol and is part of the Indian Idol series. It has aired on Sony Entertainment Television since 2004. Originally produced by Miditech Studios and its iconic producer-brothers, Niret Alva, Nikhil J Alva and Nivedith Alva, the series was an instant success. The brothers produced the first 5 seasons of the series and were instrumental in laying the foundation for its future success.

Indian Idol’s production and taping take place in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It broadcasts on Saturdays and Sundays and digitally airs on SonyLIV application.

How to Apply for Indian Idol Auditions

  • Fill in personal details such as name, age, city, and contact number

  • Upload a short singing video (usually 1–2 minutes)

  • Submit the form and wait for confirmation

After successful registration, shortlisted candidates are contacted by the official team.

Video Audition

In many seasons, the first round is a video audition.

Important tips:

  • Sing without background music unless mentioned

  • Ensure clear audio and good lighting

  • Avoid editing or auto-tune

  • Sing confidently and naturally

Offline Auditions

If selected, candidates may be invited for offline auditions in major cities.

You should:

  • Carry a valid ID proof

  • Bring the audition confirmation message or email

  • Be prepared to sing without instruments

  • Follow instructions given by the audition team

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for Indian Idol:

Show Format – Indian Idol

  • Indian Idol follows a multi-stage competition format to find the best singing talent in India.
